Britons Seek Comfort in Unforgettable Holidays
October 23, 2009 on 6:24 am | In Travel Services |A growing number of British holidaymakers are showing greater interested in getaways that provide them with fewer luxuries, but a greater since of home and hearth. Those looking to travel often select cottages as a main way of escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, looking forward to a home away from home in which they have more time to relax and fewer activities on their itineraries. In the interest of cutting costs, many in the UK look forward to smaller scale holidays that allow them greater freedom and less financial worries along the way, making their holiday far easier to enjoy. The simplicity of holiday escapes to villas, chalets and cottages has drawn in an increasing number of holidaymakers who want to be able to take their families along and have more choice when it comes to how they spend their leisure time. Not having to pay for additional features of a holiday that they don’t plan to use are especially enticing to many.
Those in the hospitality industry have been expecting this shift since the downturn in the economy shortly after the start of the new millennium. In an effort to meet customer demands, they have stepped up their efforts to provide quality holiday experiences that suit the budgets of travelers and offer the features they appreciate most. While in the past families on holiday may have been looking to be pampered, today many choose self catering holidays in which they bring along their own food or choose where they would like to eat. Working hand in hand with local restaurants, travel companies can often help holidaymakers by providing discounts for those who use their services which helps lower the cost of the holiday.
